数据模型是一种组织和记录系统数据的技术,用于为数据库定义业务需求,数据模型最终要转换为数据库,因此也称为数据库建模。在系统分析阶段展示的是系统数据的逻辑模型,在设计阶段,该模型被转换为物理数据模型,进而转换成物理的数据表。

A data model is a technique for organizing and recording system data to define business requirements for a database and a data model is ultimately transformed into a database so it is also called database modeling. In the system analysis phase the logical model of the system data is displayed and in the design phase the model is converted into a physical data model which in turn is converted into a physical data table.

逻辑数据建模过程第一步就是确定基本实体,基本实体的确定主要是在了解数据需求的基础上进行的。数据获取主要是通过调查和提问的方式进行。识别基本的实体后,需要建立实体之间的联系,并确定实体实例的基数。联系反映了一个或多个实体实例之间存在的某种自然联系。建立联系后就是确定每个实体的主码。

The first step in the logical data modeling process is to determine the basic entities. The determination of the basic entities is mainly carried out on the basis of understanding the data requirements. Data acquisition is mainly carried out through surveys and questions. After identifying the basic entities it is necessary to establish the relationship between the entities and determine the cardinality of the entity instances. A connection reflects some natural connection that exists between one or more entity instances. After the connection is established the primary code of each entity is determined.

数据建模的设计应当满足如下标准:(1)好的数据模型是简单的。(2)好的数据模型基本是冗余的。(3)好的数据模型应该是灵活的而且对未来的需求具有适应性。

The design of data modeling should meet the following criteria: (1) A good data model is simple. (2) A good data model is basically redundant. (3) A good data model should be flexible and adaptable to future needs.
