Hello，我是W！今天这个小视频依然是来自Desperate Housewives的第一季第一集。前情回顾：因为好友Mary Alice的去世，四个女主 Lynette，Gabriel，Bree和Susan都来到了好友的葬礼，前面几天的课程主要介绍了四位女主的背景，家庭和婚姻状况。这一期是来到葬礼的Susan触景生情，回忆起五个人一年以前的一次聊天，而聊天的地点正是在Mary的家里，背景是Susan刚发现老公Carl出轨，四个好姐妹来安慰她的时候。快来跟W一起看看里面地道的英语表达吧！

confront：to face meet or deal with a difficult situation or person. 遭遇；比较；面对。反义词是：aviod。常用搭配 confront sb with\by sth。

• SUSAN: You'll love this he said it doesn't mean anything it was just sex.

philander：【vi】调戏，玩弄。常用词组 philander with sb。词根phil=philo=love。philanthropy 慈善事业。词根anthrop=anthropo=man，human。

为了发音简便，英语口语里常用的简短说法，注意这并不是俚语哦！be gonna = be going to，口语常见用法 注意前面要有be 后面跟动词原形。gotta=got to，相当于have to 不得不 必须。 wanna= want to，想要；希望。 kinda(= kind of) =sorta(=sort of)，有点儿。

• MARY ALICE: Listen to me. We all have moments of desperation. But if we can face them head on that's when we find out just how strong we really are.
