cajole [动词] 哄骗,劝诱,说服:If you cajole someone into doing something you get them to do it after persuading them for some time.
ingratiate [动词] 使得到······的欢心,讨好:If someone tries to ingratiate themselves with you they do things to try and make you like them. 如:
Many politicians are trying to ingratiate themselves with her. 许多政客都设法讨她的欢心。
stoop [动词] 本义是“俯身,弯腰”,引申义是“堕落(卑劣)到去做······”:To do something bad or morally wrong which you do not normally do. 如:
[stoop to sth] You surely don’t think I’d stoop to that! 你不会认为我会下作到那种地步吧!
[stoop to doing sth] I didn’t expect you to stoop to lying. 我没料到你竟然会卑劣到去撒谎。
obsequious [形容词] 奉承的,巴结的,谄媚的:If you describe someone as obsequious you are criticizing them because they are too eager to help or agree with someone more important than them. 如:
Barrow was positively obsequious to me until he learnt that I too was the son of a laboring man. 巴罗竭力讨好我,直到得知我也是工人家庭出身。

People are most contemptuous of the person who knows only how to be obsequious before his superiors.

stop at nothing to do sth 不择手段,无所顾忌:If you say that someone will stop at nothing to get something you are emphasizing that they are willing to do things that are extreme wrong or dangerous in order to get it. 如:
Their motive is money and they will stop at nothing to get it. 他们的动机是钱,为了钱他们会不择手段。
