丙烯作品丙烯颜料在使用方式上与油画的最大区别是带有一般水性颜料的操作特性，既能作水彩，又能作水粉用、丙烯塑型软膏中有含颗粒型，且有粗颗粒与细颗粒之分，为制作肌理提供了方便。
霍克尼David Hockney
霍克尼非常偏好丙烯材料进行作画，近几年的全身像写生也是用到丙烯材料。画面的色彩较为饱和，表现力较强，构成和用色有着当代艺术的特点
