The wolf is coming

A shepherd boy was tending sheep in the village. He liked to play tricks on the villagers so he pretended that a wolf had attacked the sheep. He cried out "Wolf! Wolf is coming!" When people rushed in he laughed at them for it. He repeated the trick again and again and each time the villagers found that they had been tricked for there were no wolves. At last one day the wolf came and the shepherd boy cried "The wolf is coming! The wolf is coming!" He tried to magnify his voice. However accustomed to his lies in the past people did not heed his cries for help this time. In this way the wolf leisurely sheep one by one to eat.

A liar is not believed even when he speaks the truth.
