因为英语是拼读文字，所以它本身有一套发音规律，可以保词证70-80%的单词实现“见词能读，听词能写”。这便是大名鼎鼎的自然拼读，熟练掌握它，可以让后期的单词记忆如虎添翼，易如反掌。

但是

还有一些单词的发音不符合自然拼读的规律，而他们偏偏又是阅读和会话中的高频词。

高频词，常见不等于简单。事实上，越是“小词”，使用的机会越多，它所蕴含的意义越复杂，一查词典更是有的了，光set一个词，三种词性加起来含义就近70中，还不算包含它的短语。

更别说英语中那些常见且用法灵活的介词了。

由此可见熟练掌握这些词，对于英语启蒙的意义有多么重大。
