Inside and Outside

There are two birds in the picture. One is in a cage another

is outside. Both of them are worrying about something.

Locked in the cage and confined to a small space the bird in

the cage lives a very unhappy life. Although it is fed on a full bowl of rice every day it is bored to death. It dreams of freeing itself from the imprisonment and flying in the sky.

On the other hand the bird outside the cage is harassed by starvation. Coveting the bowl of rice in the cage it has a strong desire to get in. In its hunger pang it has completely forgotten the advantage of being able to enjoy freedom.

The message conveyed by this picture is instructive. Everything has its positive and negative sides. When a person is beset by his/her unfavorable condition he/she should never lose sight of his own advantages.

这是一篇根据图画提示展开的说明性议论文，作者根据题目指定的要求，首先对图画内容进行简明扼要的描述，并用Both of them are worrying about something顺利过渡到下文。在第二段，作者说明了笼子里面的鸟所担心的事情。在第三段又用On the other hand进行过渡，说明了笼子外面的鸟所担心的事情。文章最后一段是作者发表的自己的看法。
