The Zhengzhou Grand Theater is one of the core venues of the newly completed culture and art center and an important landmark of Zhengzhou Central Cultural District (CCD). On November 8th the Zhengzhou Grand Theater was officially opened with an "Opening Concert". This concert was directed by the famous conductor Lin Daye and performed by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra a world-class orchestra with a long history in Asia.

Designed and constructed in accordance with new international standards the Zhengzhou Grand Theater covers an area of 50 000 square meters which is both professional and practical. It consists of 4 independent playhouses (a 1 687-seat song and dance theater an 884-seat concert hall a 421-seat multi-function hall and a 461-seat opera rehearsal hall) and 2 special areas for art troupes.

The Zhengzhou Grand Theater will have many wonderful performances in the future. In the opening season alone a total of 33 performances will be presented in the next two months covering opera musical dance drama children's drama and others.

It is a dance drama supported by the national stage art creation project. Dancing Lion a large-scale folk dance drama of Guangzhou Song and Dance Theater. It integrates Lingnan cultural symbols such as Guangzhou Dancing Lion and southern-style boxing. It won the 11th Chinese Dance "Lotus Award".
由中国舞协主席冯双白编剧、中国舞协副主席、国家一级导演杨笑阳导演，国家舞台艺术精品创作扶持工程、重点扶持舞剧《精忠报国》；融合广州醒狮、南拳等岭南文化符号，荣获第十一届“荷花奖”舞蹈奖，广州歌舞剧院大型民族舞剧《醒·狮》。

A Dream of Red Mansions a repertoire by the Shanghai Yue Opera House interprets the legendary story of this classic masterpiece in the form of opera. The classic Double-Pearl Phoenix tells the story of Wen Bizheng a gifted youth in the Ming Dynasty and Huo Dingjin the daughter of a high official who bravely pursue love.
上海越剧院保留剧目《红楼梦》，以戏曲形式为观众演绎古典名著传奇故事；经典作品《双珠凤》，讲述了明朝才子文必正与天官小姐霍定金勇敢追求爱情的故事。
Highlight 4: Musical 亮点四：音乐剧
The Chinese version of the Broadway musical First Date with its easy and romantic plot humorous and wise lines; the musical Kiki's Delivery Service a heart-warming coming-of-age story based on Miyazaki Hayao's classic film.
百老汇音乐剧《第一次约会》中文版，剧情轻松浪漫，台词幽默睿智；音乐剧《魔女宅急便》则是改编自宫崎骏经典电影的暖心成长故事。
