The diagram below shows the development of cutting tools in the Stone Age. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and comparisons where relevant. Write at least 150 words.

The diagrams compare the features of two stone age tools from two time periods namely from 1.4 million years ago known as ‘Tool A’ and the other from 0.8 million years ago labeled as ‘Tool B’ and show the front side and back views along with a measurement key.
Overall ‘Tool A’ has been crudely manufactured and has a non-geometric form; whereas ‘Tool B’ has been more finely produced and is in the shape of a teardrop.
Besides the general shape of each tool another clear difference is that ‘Tool B’ has a much more delicately developed tip while ‘Tool A’s’ tip is not as sharply pointed. The size of the tools also has an observable difference with the newer stone tool being both wider and longer and having a length roughly 2 cm longer than the older tool. From the side view it can also be seen that the newer tool is straighter and has smooth sides whilst the older tool is much rougher in appearance.
