你好呀，我是来自加拿大的雅思外教Mac。上周有个小伙伴留言说能不能分享一下雅思G类小作文。我今天就来分享一篇G类雅思写作常见的letter，书信。

在G类雅思写作中，你拿到题目的时候，第一步不是拿起笔就写，而是判断。看这封信的场合是：正式(formal)，还是非正式(informal)。因为两种场合的letter，用的口吻(tone)和风格(style)是不一样的。
在这篇文章里，我分享非正式场合的书信怎么写。
那非正式场合有哪些呢？比如，写给朋友，家人，或熟人的信。
写这种信的时候，可以想象成你和朋友面对面聊天的文字版。信件的用语应该轻松，亲密，口语化。
Informal Phrases (colloquialisms): 非正式信件的常用语
- How’s life been treating you? (how are you?)
- Get around to writing (finding the time to write)
- It’s all go here (busy)
- Drop you a quick line (write a quick letter)
- Loads of work (busy)
- Didn’t get around to (did not do something)
- Sort out (arrange)
- Thrilled to bits / over the moon (very happy)
- I have a mind like a sieve (excuse for forgetting something)
- It cost an arm and a leg (very expensive)
- It’s driving me up the wall (annoying)
- Thanks a lot
- Thanks again
- It’d be great to see you OR to have you over
- I’ll be glad to have you (for you to come over)
- to do this and that (general way to describe doing many different things)
Unlike Academic IELTS or formal letters in informal letters we WILL use contractions: 跟学术雅思写作不一样的是，非正式场合的书信，是可以用缩写的：
- I am = I’m
- Did not = didn’t
- I will = I’ll
- I have = I’ve
- It has been = It’s been
- It is = it’s
- It would be = it’d be
- Other Example Phrases -
Paragraph 1 – Using fillers to explain 第一段可以用这些表达
- You’ll never guess what I went through last week (signposting phrase for introducing a surprising story)
- To be honest it was an excellent holiday……….
- When you hear this it’ll keep you on the edge of your seat (suspenseful story)
Paragraph 2 – More info 第二段，补充更多信息

Paragraph 3 – What’s next 第三段：聊聊下一步
- Talk about what your plans are?

Last Paragraph – Phrases 最后一段，可以用这些表达
- It was great catching up last time and hope to again soon!
- I must go now as…
- Let’s get together soon over a coffee/lunch/dinner
- Hope to see/talk to you soon
- Let’s touch base soon (talk to each other soon)

You had just missed a friend s party. Write a letter to apologize. In your letter you should apologize to your friend and explain why you couldn’t attend the party.
Hi Jack
Sorry I didn’t get to your party last Saturday. I was really looking forward to it and I was all ready to leave the house when my uncle from England showed up at the house for a surprise visit!! He was only in town for the one evening before heading to my brother's house so I had to stay with him. I'm really sorry Jack!
I tried calling you but couldn’t get through the two times when I called. Then I headed out with my uncle to town and didn't have a chance to ring again as he kept demanding to do this and that throughout the whole evening. What a pain!
I hope you understand. I know you wanted to get me to meet that friend of yours. Anyway next time hopefully I can! And by the way my evening was really boring...my punishment for missing a great time at your place!
