Good morning! Everyone. It is with great pleasure to have this opportunity to be with you for a very limited time stating the main views of my thesis and waiting to reply some of your questions.

First of all I would like to give you a brief self-introduction. I am Wei Ye a teacher of English in Baipeng No.3 middle school in Liujiang county. Also I'm a self-taught graduate student in Guangxi University of Technology.

Only with help of my teachers here that can I easily pass all the courses. It is really hard for me to search for words that can describe how kind warm-hearted friendly sincere learned and hardworking you teachers are. Here please allow me to express my great thanks to my three teachers: Mr. Nong Minqing supervisor of my thesis Mr.Huang Mujian teacher of Selected Readings in English and American Literature and Miss Li Qiu teacher of Japanese. My thanks are also due to those who care for my study in or outside the University. I especially want to mention my teacher Mr.Nong. He is among a few good teachers I have ever met in my life. What affects me most is that he worked pain-takingly for my study guiding me to complete my thesis though it is weekends for him to enjoy his happy time his quick mind wide-ranged knowledge good command of English result from his hard work and carefulness in study. He sets a good example for us by his diligence instead of words. He is easy-going but hard on me in Englsih learning this is exactly his good virtue with which wins his students honour. I will learn form him and repay his love and care by hard work and make great effort to achieve more success in return.

Secondly I would like to talk about the topic of my thesis and the reason I chose it. My topic is: The Sentimental Circumstances and approaches of Participating in Host-role in Englsih Class. As you know I have been a teacher of Englsih for almost 20 years I have touched all kinds of students understanding their difficulties and embarrassment in English learning. Also I have read quite a few books about psychology methodology and so on. English teaching is much more different from other subjects such as Maths Chinese Physics etc. Language class especially foreign language class it deals with listening reading and writing. These four skills require our students to involve themselves in them completely. They must participate in host-role think with their own mind and speak in their own words. In this aspect English class is something different comparing to other subjects' classes. To us teachers we should create some English learning circumstances and offer them some scientific methods instead of explaining. Teachers should be guiders while students be actors or actress. As a very famous foreign saying goes: To tell me I forget; To teach me I remember; To involve me I understand.

Lastly I would like to introduce the structure of my thesis. The thesis concludes two main parts. Because of the limit of my English and my knowledge the viewpoints I have expressed in my thesis may not be correct more or less. Any criticism and good advice should be welcome and I shall appreciate it very much.
