青春，年轻，活力……大概是所有人都渴望拥有并一直保持的吧。可能正值青春年华的人并没有太在意这一点，但是年纪渐长的，即将迈入或已经迈入而立之年（30岁）的人们对此却感触尤深。

我算是正处青春年华岁月的阶段吧，并没有迈入而立之年，但是我却对青春易逝有一些察觉，并偶尔感到暗自神伤。可能自己比较多愁善感、敏感内敛吧，所以对人生、对世界的思考总是不免多了一些。但是我并不会沉浸于此，人生如此多彩，世界如此奇妙，等着自己去探索发现还来不及，哪里来的那么多时光伤春悲秋、暗自叹然。

想到青春，一首诗就不由自主地浮现在眼前。这首诗的名字叫作《Youth》，译作《青春》，是德裔美国人塞缪尔·厄尔曼所作。

Youth is not a time of life it is a state of mind;

it is a matter of the will a quality of the imagination a vigor of the emotions;

When the aerials are down and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism then you've grown old even at twenty but as long as your aerials are up to catch the waves of optimism there is hope you may die young at eighty.

青春不是年华，而是心境；

青春不是桃面、丹唇、柔膝，而是深沉的意志，恢宏的想象，炙热的感情；

青春是生命的深泉在涌流。

青春气贯长虹，勇锐盖过怯弱，进取压倒苟安。

如此锐气，二十后生而有之，六旬男子则更多见。

年岁有加，并非垂老，理想丢弃，方堕暮年。

岁月悠悠，衰微只及肌肤；热忱抛却，颓废必致灵魂。

忧烦，惶恐，丧失自信，定使心灵扭曲，意气如灰。

无论年届花甲，抑或二八芳龄，心中皆有生命之欢乐，奇迹之诱惑，孩童般天真久盛不衰。

人人心中皆有一台天线，只要你从天上人间接受美好、希望、欢乐、勇气和力量的信号，你就青春永驻，风华常存。

一旦天线下降，锐气便被冰雪覆盖，玩世不恭、自暴自弃油然而生，即使年方二十，实已垂垂老矣；然则只要树起天线，捕捉乐观信号，你就有望在八十高龄告别尘寰时仍觉年轻。

塞缪尔开始写作时已经70多岁了，青春、活力、梦想等是他那个年纪的人所渴望但又不太可能拥有的东西。但是塞缪尔却重新定义了青春含义，青春不是年龄的表现，而是心态的呈现。

也许正是因为他开始写作时已经垂垂老矣，所以才更怀恋渴望青春岁月，但是又不甘受年龄所限，于是创作了闻名于世的散文诗《Youth》。的确，如果空有青春的皮囊，却无相应的冲劲与梦想，只是空耗年华，白白浪费了宝贵的青春。相反，若是内心有一股坚守的力量，即使你迈入花甲之年或甚至耄耋之年，你仍然身处青春阶段，拥有无穷的活力。
