现在小孩子们玩的陀螺有木制的，塑料的，有的带抽绳，有的还有按钮。

To use the automatic top is quite easy.

玩这种自动陀螺很简单。

You just clip the top by the clamp or grip that goes with the toy

用玩具里带的夹子夹住陀螺，

and pull the string on the handle forcefully several times then let go of the top.

用力快速拉几次手柄上的绳子，然后释放陀螺。

When you release the top the top will land and go spinning.

当你松开陀螺，它一落地就转起来了。

And as it spins multi-colored lights flash on and off.

陀螺一边转，一边闪着五颜六色的光。

As Newton said objects in motion stay in motion.

就像牛顿说的，运动的物体会保持运动。

They don't change direction or slow down without the application of an outside force.

In fact a well-balanced top that is spun perfectly upright would spin for quite a long time.
