大姐发来一张照片

蹲在自家的油菜花丛中

金黄的春光放大了她的笑容

我正在炒菜，用她托人

给我带来的菜籽油

看一眼照片，再瞅一眼

热气腾涌的不粘锅。我想告诉她

这菜籽油香极了

外面在下雨

好多天了。这雨时断时续

落在我们目力所及的地方

该开的花都开了

该说的话总让人觉得难为情

In Spring Rain

My eldest sister sent me a photograph

of herself in the family farm of yellow rapeseed flowers.

Spring’s golden sunrays evince her smile.

I am cooking with the rapeseed oil

that she entrusted someone to pass on to me.

I glance at the photograph and glance at

the oil steaming up above the non-stick pan. I want to tell her

how her rapeseed oil smells heavenly.

It is raining outside.

It has been rainy for many days. The fitful rain

falls on everything as far as the eye can see.

All the flowers that should bloom have bloomed

but the words that should be said recoil from coming out.
