Little Nutbrown Hare who was going to bed held on tight to Big Nutbrown Hare's very long ears.
栗色小兔子该上床睡觉了，他紧紧抓住栗色大兔子的长耳朵。
nutbrown：栗色
hare：野兔
hold on：拉住、坚持
tight：紧紧地
He wanted to be sure that Big Nutbrown Hare was listening.
他要确保大兔子能认真听他说话。
"Guess how much I love you " he said.
“猜猜看我有多爱你。”他说。
"Oh I don't think I could guess that " said BigNutbrown Hare.
“哦，这我可猜不出来呢。”大兔子回答。
guess：猜猜
"This much " said Little Nutbrown Hare stretching out his arms as wide as they could go.
“这么多。”小兔子一边说一边努力地张开胳膊。
stretch：伸展
Big Nutbrown Hare had even longer arms. "But I loveyou this much " he said.
大兔子的胳膊要长得多。
“但我爱你有这么多。”他说。
Hmm that is a lot thought Little Nutbrown Hare.
嗯，那真的很多，小兔子想。

longer：更长的
"I love you as high as I can reach " said Little Nutbrown Hare.
“我能够多高，我就有多爱你。”小兔子说。
reach：够
"I love you as high as I can reach " said Nutbrown Hare.
“我能够多高，我也就有多爱你。”大兔子说。
That is very high thought Little Nutbrown Hare. I wish I had arms like that.
那真的很高，小兔子想。真希望我也有那么长的胳膊。
Then Little Nutbrown Hare had a good idea. He tumbled upside down and reached up the tree trunk with his feet.
接着小兔子想到了一个好办法。他倒立起来并把脚撑在树干上。
"I love you all the way up to my toes!" he said.
“我对你的爱一直远到我的脚趾头！”他说。
tumble：跌倒、绊倒
upside down：翻转
trunk：树干
toe：脚趾
"And I love you all the way up to your toes " said BigNutbrown Hare swinging him up over his head.
“而我对你的爱也一直到你的脚趾头。”大兔子一边说，一边抱起小兔子高高挥过自己的头顶。
swing：挥动、摇摆
"I love you as high as I can hop!" laughed LittleNutbrown Hare bouncing up and down.
“我能跳多高我就有多爱你！”小兔子一边笑一边跳上跳下。
hop：单足跳
bounce：弹跳
"But I love you as high as I can hop " smiled BigNutbrown Hare -and he hopped so high that his ears touched the branches above.
“但我能跳多高，就有多爱你。”大兔子微笑着说。
他跳得这么高，耳朵都碰到了上面的树枝。
That's good hopping thought Little Nutbrown Hare. I wish I could hop like that.
这跳得可真棒，小兔子想。真希望我也能跳这么高。

"I love you all the way down the lane as far as the river " cried Little Nutbrown Hare.
“我对你的爱沿着小路一直远到小河那边。”小兔子喊道。
"I love you across the river and over the hills " said Big Nutbrown Hare.
“我对你的爱远到跨过小河，并翻过山坡。”大兔子说。
lane：小路、车道
That's very far thought Little Nutbrown Hare.
He was almost too sleepy to think anymore.
那真的很远，小兔子想。他很困了，已经想不出更多了。
Then he looked beyond the thornbushes out into the big dark night. Nothing could be farther than the sky.
接着他的目光穿过了荆棘丛，看到了那漫无边际的漆黑的夜空。没有什么能比天空更远了。
thornbushes：荆棘丛
"I love you right up to the moon " he said and closed his eyes.
“我爱你一直远到月亮那。”他一边说一边闭上了眼睛。
"Oh that's far " said Big Nutbrown Hare. "That is very very far."
“哦，那真远。”大兔子说，“那真的真的很远。”
Big Nutbrown Hare settled Little Nutbrown Hare into his bed of leaves.
大兔子把小兔子抱进了那树叶铺成的床。
He leaned over and kissed him good night.
他俯下身亲吻了一下小兔子，并对他说晚安。
settle：定居、安排
lean：倾斜、倚靠
Then he lay down close by and whispered with a smile "I love you right up to the moon - and back."
接着他挨着小兔子躺下来，微笑着轻声说：“我对你的爱一直远到月亮那——再回来。”
whisper：耳语、低语
