how to start

开篇很重要

奠定了接下来整个谈话的基调

大家可以直接介绍主题

可用的句型有：

I'd like to tell you about……

I'd like to tell you about an occasion when a complete stranger helped me out in quite an embarrassing situation.……

I'm going to tell you about……

I'm going to tell you about an impressive event I attended recently.

注意：不要一次性披露太多细节，保持适当的模糊

参加了什么活动、何时参加的活动

都可以留到第二句、第三句详细说明

假如你一开始就提到

I'm going to tell you about a birthday party I attended last Saturday.

这就已经包含了太多可以留后细论的信息

口语和写作不同

不要求严谨的学术性词汇

你可以使用非正式的单词，短语，成语，缩略词

比如

I'm、 I'd……

遵循人们正常说话的方式

简单流畅即可

没必要为复杂单词停顿和犹豫

在开始实际回答话题之前

你可以给出一些背景故事或解释情况

能有效地丰富素材信息、拉长时间

比如

Describe a surprising thing you have received.

You should say:

-what it was

-who gave it to you

-why they chose this present for you

and explain why this present surprised you.

与其直接说出这件礼物是什么

不如补充一下“前情提要”：

I'd like to tell you about an occasion when I received something completely unexpected or maybe it wasn't even a thing. The story happened about 15 years ago when I lived in Bishkek. It's a town in Central Asia most people have never heard about it but that's where I finished my university. Basically my mom invited me to a dog show because she knew I loved dogs. So on the day we enjoyed the show we discussed different breeds and what kind of dogs we liked or didn't like for whatever reason we had lots of fun and then I forgot about it. A few weeks later on my birthday I suddenly saw a big basket in the living room and when I came up close guess what I saw? It was a puppy!

这段话大概能填充40秒左右的时间

（考虑到大家心情激动的情况下语速会加快）

非常实用

考生确实有一只小狗

但可能并不是“惊喜礼物”

而是考生自己买的

然而雅思考试中

考官不会评估你的故事是真的假的

只要你对TA足够熟悉

完全可以随机应变

编出一个有感染力的故事

一个细节丰富的例子是得高分的必备选项

也是延长话题时间的好帮手

比如

Describe someone who is kind.

You should say:

-who that is

-where you met this person

-why you find him or her kind

and explain how you feel about that person.

在回答过程中

大家就可以举例证明TA有多么“kind”：

I think my granny is an extremely generous and kind person because she always helps everyone: friends acquaintances or even strangers. For example once we were on our way to have dinner with some family friends and suddenly we saw a woman sitting on the bench she looked so lost and upset and immediately my granny came up to her and said……

考生应该就所给的话题做1-2分钟的陈述

回答不可太短，欠缺内容

让考官认为你不具备英文分析描述的能力；

回答不可太长，容易被考官打断

让考官认为你不能抓住重点或有背诵之嫌

所以，与其犹犹豫豫、啰啰嗦嗦地说满了2分钟

没说完主题被考官打断

不如顺畅地说上1分钟40-50秒
