Can we guess what season it is now?
你可以猜猜现在是什么季节吗？
Yes it is winter now because there’s a lot of snow here.
是的，现在是冬天，因为地上有很多雪。
Here are Biff Kipper and Chip.
这是Biff，Kipper和Chip。
They are all wearing hats scarves and boots. It’s very cold in winter.
他们都戴了帽子、围巾，穿了靴子。冬天非常寒冷。
Can you see the big footprints?
你能看到这些大脚印吗？
Who do you think made the footprints in the snow?
你觉得是谁的脚印呢？
Have a think and let’s move to the first page.

One morning Chip opened the door and found something really weird.

“Come and look at this.” said Chip.

What did Chip find?

He found some footprints in the snow.
他在雪地里找到了一些脚印。
Oh these footprints are huge!
这些脚印还真大呢！
Whose footprints are these?
这是谁的脚印呢？
I am not sure.
我不确定呢。
Come and look at this.
快来看看这个！
Biff came out and saw the footprints.
Biff出来了，看到了这些脚印。
“Is it a big monster?” she thought.
她想，会不会是大怪兽呢？
Emm the monster has very big feet.
嗯，怪兽的脚丫很大。
Are they monster’s feet? I wonder if these footprints belong to the monster.
这真的是怪兽的脚印吗？
I am not sure.
我不确定。
Come and look at this.

Here comes Kipper.
Kipper出来了。
“Is it a big dinosaur?” thought Kipper.
Kipper想，会不会是大恐龙的脚印呢？
Emm the dinosaur has very big feet.
嗯，恐龙的脚很大。
Do you think they are really the dinosaur’s footprints?
你觉得这是恐龙的脚印吗？
I don’t know. I’ve never seen a real dinosaur.
我不知道，我没见过恐龙呢。

“Is it a giant?” thought Mum.
妈妈想，是不是巨人的脚印呢？
A Giant is a man who is super big and tall.
巨人就是长的又高又大的人。
Well still not sure.
嗯，还是不太确定。
Where is Chip?
Chip去哪里了？
Chip is following the footprints. He wants to see if there are other animals around.
Chip想要顺着这些脚印去找找，周围有没有什么动物。
No. It is Dad.
都不对，是爸爸！
They are Dad’s footprints.
是爸爸的脚印！
Dad played a trick. He put on a special pair of shoes and made the footprints.
爸爸搞了个恶作剧，他穿了一双特殊的鞋子，踩出了这些脚印。
Are you surprised that it was Dad making the footprints?
你是不是感到跟惊讶呢？
What a funny Daddy!
好有趣的爸爸呀！
Where was Dad before he came out of the house?
他从屋里出来之前，去哪里了呢？
Ah! He was hiding inside in the house and looking through the window.
啊，他正躲在这里，偷偷从窗子里往外看呢。
Look! We can see his head but the children didn’t find him.
看！我们能看到他的头，但是小朋友们都没有发现他。
拓展问题1.Have you ever played a trick on other people?
你有没有对别人做过恶作剧呢？
2.Do you think people like small tricks or not?
你觉得大家喜欢恶作剧吗？
3.What do you think everyone would say to Dad after they had found out about his trick?
你觉得大家发现爸爸做了恶作剧之后，会跟爸爸说什么呢？
黄豆妈说这个爸爸还真是顽皮呢，做了恶作剧，还一直躲在旁边偷偷看！
另外，在书的最后一页，秃顶叔叔又在偷偷看着这有意思的一家人呢！

特别提醒1. 每个宝宝的年龄不一样，基础不一样，不需要完全按照以上文本来讲。如果孩子感兴趣，就多说一点，不感兴趣就少说一点，都没问题。
2. 只要孩子理解，或看图能明白，或家长可以用肢体语言或者指物的方式让孩子明白，就不要翻译。
3. 如果实在不能理解，可以适当解释，但不需要字对字翻译。
