These two artists with their very different styles are a perfect example of the rich diversity in the Belgian music scene. And even though they both mostly sing in French they have successfully built up audiences all over Europe and the world proving that music is not bound by language.

His personal background being of mixed Belgian and Rwandan origin has heavily influenced his music style. Stromae said he is inspired by Belgian electronic music the classic Belgian singer Jacques Brel as well as Congolese music. On top of this interesting mix of influences he uses his lyrical prose to translate personal and societal topics into songs that not only entertain the listener but also invite for deeper reflection.

Angèle was born in 1995 just outside of Brussels where she grew up in a family of multi-talented performers. Her father is a musician her mother is a comedian and her brother is the rapper Roméo Elvis with whom she released the duet 'Tout Oublier'. In 2018 this song beat Stromae’s record for most weeks at the top of the Belgian singles’ chart.

Angèle started off her music career performing in cafés around Brussels and posting videos of her singing online. In 2017 she released her first single which received millions of views online. In just a few years she’s already become one of the most recognized Belgian modern pop singers becoming a brand ambassador for a major luxury brand and collaborating with international popstars.
