表示顺序的词称为序数词。那么基数词如何变成序数词，也就是序数词怎样写呢？我们经常用到序数词的缩写形式，序数词又是如何缩写的呢？

序数词的构成。

第一到第十 第十一到第十九 第二十以上

first 1st eleventh 11th twentieth 20th

second 2nd twelfth 12th thirtieth 30th

third 3rd thirteenth 13th fortieth 40th

fourth 4th fourteenth 14th fiftieth 50th

fifth 5th fifteenth 15th sixtieth 60th

sixth 6th sixteenth 16th seventieth 70th

ninth 9th nineteenth 19th hundredth 100th

说明：

1.1-3的序数词为不规则变化。

2.4-19的序数词由“基数词 th"构成，但fifth(第五）、eighth(第八）、

ninth(第九）、twelfth(第十二）的拼写需要注意。

3.“整十”类序数词，表示“第几十”，变化规律为把基数词末尾的y变为ie 再加th。

4.“几十几”类的基数词变序数词时，只需要把基数词的个位数变为序数词即可。

eg. twenty-one twenty-first forty-six→ forty-sixth three hundred and seventy-two→three hundred and seventy-second

基数词变序数词方法巧记：

基变序有规律，1 2 3特殊记，结尾字母t d d;

th从4起，8去t 9去e ve要用f替；

ty变成tie 若是遇到“几十几”，只变个位就可以。

序数词的缩写形式。

序数词可以缩写为阿拉伯数字加序数词最后两个字母的形式。

eg . first - 1st second- 2nd third-3rd

fourth-4th seventh-7th twenty-first-21st
