very和much这两个词都可以用来加强语气，但它们的用法略有不同。

（1）very用来修饰形容词、担任形容词功能的现在分词、已经完全转化成形容词的过去分词和副词。

He drives very fast. 他开车很快。

I am very pleased to hear of your success. 听说你取得了成功，我十分高兴。

His argument is very convincing. 他的论点很有说服力。

（2）much修饰过去分词、形容词和副词的比较级。
