当然，在译文中，对于英语读者来说，将“老路”译成“old plicy”，以及将“走邪路”翻译成take an erroneous path，还是有一点抽象化。不过，还是比中文更为具体化一些。

以下的“近代以来”、“妥善安排”、“在国际上都有影响”以及“才有好处”等词，经常显示得比较笼统、简略或是抽象。同时，这些词相对需要一定的文化背景知识，需要具体化一些。

5、坦率地说，中国近代以来没有对世界作出应有的贡献。这首先同一百多年的帝国主义侵略有关，也与历代反动政府的腐败有关。

注意：译文用了after 而没有用since，因为从上下文看，这段时间指提交从1840年鸦片战争到1949新中国成立。如果用since 就一直管到今天了。

6、希望所有出国学习的人回来。不管他们过去的政治态度怎么样，都是可以回来，回来后妥善安排。这个政策不能变。
