《Baby Jessie》小宝宝杰西

我女儿小的时候，时常跟我说：妈妈，我们要个小妹妹吧。

我特别地惊奇，为什么她有这个想法。我小时候我妈跟我说再要个小弟弟小妹妹，我每一反应一定是：你生了我就掐死她。

后来因为这样那样的原因，我并没有再要二宝，但女儿对于小妹妹的执着之心一直没有发生过改变。如果说每个小孩都有一种天生的魔力，我女儿的魔力就是：特别招小孩喜欢。屁股后面经常追着一大堆小孩喊悠悠姐姐。也许她天生就是幼儿园老师的料？也不错。

Everyone was waiting for Jessie and her parents to arrive. “They'll be here soon!”

每个人都在等杰西和她爸爸妈妈的到来。“他们就快要到了！”

"Can Jessie and I play games together?" asked Laurie.

劳拉问道：“我可以跟杰西一起玩吗？”

"Not yet " answered Mom. "Jessie is still a baby you know."

“还不能。”妈妈回答劳拉“你知道的，杰西还是个小宝宝。”

"It takes a long time for a baby to turn into a kid doesn't it? " asked Laurie. Mom laughed "Yes it does."

“从小宝宝长成到小孩要花很长的时间，对不对？”劳拉问

妈妈笑了“对，是的，要花很长的时间。”

"Then she isn't good for much yet " said Laurie.

“那她是不是还不会做什么事儿？”

Dad laughed. "I don't think her parents would agree with that. They kind of like her."

爸爸笑了。“我可不认为她的父母会同意那样的想法。他们很喜欢她”

A moment later Jessie and her parents finally arrived.

过了一会儿，杰西和她的父母终于到了。

Jessie started crying because she didn't recognize Laurie and her family.

杰西开始大哭，因为她根本不认识劳拉和她的家人。

"She really isn't worth much " thought Laurie. But she didn't say this out loud.

“她可真是一点儿都不好玩。”劳拉心想。但是她可没有把这样的想法说出口。

Laurie then showed Jessie the box of toys. She shook a rattle at her. Jessie laughed.

过了一会儿，劳拉给杰西拿了一盒子的玩具。她对着杰西摇了摇拨浪鼓，杰西就笑了。

"I guess maybe she is worth a little bit " thought Laurie as her eyes lit up.

“我觉得她还是有一点儿好玩儿的。”劳拉两眼亮晶晶的这样想着。
