there's one more thing you must do if you want to write English well
如果想提高写作能力的话 还有一件事你必须要做
and that is to read in English regularly.
那就是要经常阅读英文
Although the writing exercise we talked about is very effective
尽管我们之前讲的练习方法很有效
you can only do it if you have a computer or a pen and paper.
但你只能在有电脑或有纸笔的情况下进行
It's difficult to practice when you're riding the train or siting in the dentist's office.
当你坐火车或或看牙医时 要默写是很困难的
I mean...it's possible to do it if you really want to.
如果你觉得可以做到的话 那也是可以的
But it's going to be very inconvenient and awkward.
但是会非常的不方便
And this is where reading comes in.
这就是为什么 我要在这里讲"阅读"这种方式
Reading is easy to do.
阅读 很容易做到
You can read almost anytime and anywhere.
你可以随时随地的阅读
All you need is an English book or you can use your phone to read websites that you find interesting.
你只需要一本英语书 或者你可以用手机阅读你感兴趣的网站
But why is reading so important?
但是 为什么阅读如此重要呢
Why should you read a lot if you want to improve your writing?
如果想提高写作水平 为什么要多阅读呢
Well you can't write English well unless you expose yourself to a lot of well-written English first.
除非你先让自己接触很多写的很好的英文素材 否则你不可能提高你的写作水平
If you constantly read the writing of people who write better than you
如果你经常阅读比你写得好的人的文章
your writing will gradually get better.
你的写作能力会越来越好
