双重所有格的核心根源：
物主代词不可与 a an this that these those some any several no each every such another which等词一起前置，修饰一个名词，而必须用双重所有格。
所以想要表达小明的一些朋友时，“朋友”用some friends，“小明的”用Xiaoming’s。因为Xiaoming’s是形容词性物主代词（也可以是名词性物主代词），就不能放在some friends的前面，即不能写成Xiaoming’s some friends。因此需要用of来连接，构成some friends of Xiaoming’s 的形式。

注意：
很多同学，如果你告诉他这道题是双重所有格，那么他会选择，也能分析出正确答案。但是如果你没有提示他某道题是双重所有格，可能他就做不对。这主要是因为他不知道如何识别双重所有格。
如果of后面是物，那不用双重所有格。
The window of the house face the sea. 这种句子不是双重所有格，因为这是“无生命的名词，用of表示所属关系”，即单所有格即可。
