"I want to help you do the dishes " you sang out trotting into the kitchen clasping that three-legged stool to your chest. You put down the stool on the floor beside the cupboard under the sink lifted one leg and got yourself onto it. This was not the first time you offered to help with the dishes. I don't think you love the job but you feel intrigued. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions. You're still too small for the job " I said. I let you scrub only one bowl.

你抱着三腿儿凳快步来到厨房，大声说，“我想帮你刷碗。”你把凳子放在水池下橱柜旁的地上，抬脚站了上去。这不是第一次你自告奋勇提出要帮刷碗。我觉得你不是爱刷碗，而是好奇心驱使。“好心会坏事的，你还太小，刷不了，”我说。我只让你冲了一个碗。
