可以切回上一页投影片吗？我不是很明白你的意思。
PPT 是PowerPoint 的简称，但外国人并不会这样说，他们称投影片为 slide。所以别再和外国客户说 PPT了，他们可是会一头雾水呢！
(X) My job is a web designer.
(O) I work as a web designer.
我是一位网页设计师。
这是对应上一题问题的回答。同样地，我们不会用 my job 或 my work 来表示我们的工作，而是用动词 “I work as a web designer.” 或用最简单的用法 “I am a web designer.”
(X) You are too over!
(O) You’ve gone over the top!
你太 over 了！
有时候身边朋友会做一些很不可思议的事情，例如刚吃完午餐，一回到办公室就忍不住开始翻零食柜，这时同事就会说：「妳太 over 了吧！胃是无底洞喔！」，但注意喔！这句话的英文可不是直翻成“You are too over!” ，而是说 “You’ve gone over the top!”。

抽屉里有一支雷射笔，你可以用它来指出重点。
我们常常会被中文误导，要讲「有什么」时，会直译成英文的 has 或 have，但实际上要讲「那里有」时要用 “there is” 喔！

(O) Due to the large quantity of order our workload has been really heavy recently.
因为大量订单的涌入，我们最近的工作量非常大。
loading 是指「负荷、载重」，尤其是指车辆、桥梁、机械等的负荷。mechanical loading 是指「机械装载」、thermal loading 是「热负载」、time loading 是指「装载时间」。
若要指「工作量」或「工作负荷」则要用 workload，heavy/light load 是指「工作量的轻重」。caseload 除了可以指工作量之外，也可以指个案量、（医院）病例数、（法庭等的）承办案件数。
(X) The bad rate of the new product is less than 3%.
(O) The defect loss of the new product is less than 3%.
新产品的不良率在 3% 以下。
若把生产线中的「不良率」讲成 bad rate 就是陷入中式英文的陷阱咯！不良率有专有名词，叫做 defect loss。将 defect 换成形容词 defective 也是正确的用法喔！yield loss 也是不良率的说法。
额外补充，若要讲良率则可以说 yield rate。

(O) We’ve decided to downsize the company in order to lower the cost.
我们决定缩减公司的规模以降低成本。
“cost down” 是中国人最容易用错的说法！不管是开会、订购流程中都常常会讲到「降低成本」。然而，“cost down” 却是中国人自己发明的错误用法。要讲「降低成本」可以说 lower the cost，或是 keep the cost down、reduce the cost。以后可别再以为 cost down 是一个正确又道地的说法唷，外国客户可是会听不懂呢！
