A: Hello Mrs. Ye. My friend told me that you are handling native products. Could you please introduce some items?
B: All right Mr. Merton. Our company is mainly handling the export of farm produce and canned food including tobacco grain walnut peanut alcoholic beverages etc. What kinds of products are you interested in most?
A: We want to find out if you can supply walnut meat and peanut kernels.
B: Yes we can. They are selling quite well and in high demand these days.
A: What about the prices?
B: For walnut meat the prices are US$800 per metric ton and peanut US$350 per metric ton.
A: Do you quote FOB or CIF?
B: We usually quote CIF without commission.
A: How about delivery? I expect you can supply from stock.
B: We have sufficient inventory to meet your present needs.
A: That's good. As details of this transaction I'll call you later.
B: All right. Thank you for your inquiry.

A: Because there are a lot of orders recently. We need to confirm it first.
B: Could you tell me when you will give us the quotation?
A: It can be sent to you on Friday. So I will send you an email around 9 o'clock on Friday morning.
B: It sounds good. In addition we hope to see the samples first.

A: What's the quantity you're likely to take?
B: A 100 tons for starters.
A: Then we can offer you firm for 100 tons of Item No. 787 at US$ 120 per metric ton CIF Rotterdam.

A: I understand that you're interested in our machine tools Mr. Huang.
B: Yes. We're thinking of placing an order. We'd like to know what you can offer in the lines as well as your sales terms such as mode of payment delivery discount etc.
A: As you know we supply machine tools of all types and sizes. We have years of experience in the manufacture of machine tools.
B: We've read about this in your sales literature. Could you give us some idea about your prices?
A: Our prices compare favorably with those offered by other manufacturers either in Europe or anywhere else. Here are our latest price sheets. You'll see that our prices are most attractive.
B: Do you take special orders? That is do you make machines according to specifications?
A: We do. As a matter of fact we design machine tools for special purposes.
B: How long does it usually take you to make delivery?
A: As a rule we deliver all our orders within 3 months after receipt of the covering letters of credit. It takes longer of course for special orders. But in no case would it take longer than 6 months.
B: Good. Another thing all your prices are on a CIF basis. We'd rather you quoted us FOB prices.
A: That can be done easily.
