玩转英文单词：由Scuttle引发的联想！

前几天我在新闻中看到scuttle这个词，想到几个好的记忆方法，和朋友们分享一下。词根词缀法讲得太多了， 我们就说说联想法和形近法吧！

之一：联想法记词义

我们可以在词典中查到scuttle的词义：

① (VERB) 碎步疾跑;急赶;疾走 When people or small animals scuttle somewhere they run there with short quick steps.

● Two very small children scuttled away in front of them...

两个小毛孩在他们前面屁颠屁颠地跑开了。

● Crabs scuttle along the muddy bank.

几只螃蟹沿着泥泞的河堤快速横行。

● Such threats could scuttle the peace conference.

这种威胁会阻挠和平会议。

如果想一下子记住词义，那么我们就可以想像这样一个画面，“一个toddler（幼儿）屁颠屁颠地往河边跑，想要搞破坏，想把船凿沉”。这样是不是很好记忆了！

之二：形近词记单词

汉语中有形近字，比如上小学初学识字时，老师会举例用“日字加一横”组字，自然可以得出“旦、由、甲、申、旧”。其实英语也是如此，加上或去掉一个字母，或者换掉一两个字母，词义就完全不一样了。我们还是以scuttle为例：

scuffle: n. v. 扭打，混战 scaffold: n. 脚手架

suttle: n. 净重 subtle: adj. 不易察觉的，机智的，柔和的 subtitle: n. 副标题

stuttle: n. 纵向横梁

shuttle: n. 航班，(织布用的)梭 v. (使)频繁往来于(两地之间)

shuffle: v. 拖着脚走，坐立不安，洗(牌)

snuffle: v. (因伤风等)抽鼻子

snaffle: n. (马的)嚼子，马衔铁 v. 偷窃 攫取

sniffle: v. (哭泣或感冒时)不断抽鼻子，n. 轻微感冒

muffle: v. 使(声音)低沉，使(音量)减弱
